I think I am done!

I am so happy that it is Spring! I love the fact that everything is blooming and the grass is so green. I am not, however, happy that soon it will be shorts weather! Hmmm-I need to get my butt in gear on the 30-day Shred. So. I think that I have finished my Easter decor. Allow me to give you a tour. What's that-you don't want one? Oh well. Quit your whining and put on your big girl panties!!! Up first is my Spring wreath. I got it last year on clearance at Tar jay. This is what it looks like-cute, huh?

But, since times are a bit tough right now, I didn't want to have to go out a buy a wreath for every freakin seaon. I take this wreath and add to it. Yellow flowers for Spring-I'm thinking bright Gerber daisys for Summer. I LoVe my little green bunny from Pier 1-they have realllly cute stuff this year. I will be going there the day after Easter for sure!

These are my AdOrAbLe decoupaged eggs! I talked about how I made them in the previous post!!! So cute, but messy and time consuming!!!

I live in a small, 1960's house, so my mantel is really all I focus on/have room for Easter/Spring decor. X-mas~A whoooooole other ballgame!!! I am trying to convice myself to paint the brick and mantel whitish color, but I am scared as to how it will look!!! the eggs I talked about in the previous post. The filler in the hurricanes are jelly beans! My little bunny used to look like this:

(gotta love thrift stores and Wal-mart spray paint!! I found these cute eggs at Safeway-1.25$ for a pack. My glass bunny HAD some candy in it-I don't know what happened to it....

My little birds used to be major ugly...again, thank-you spray paint.

Moving on, I love me a pack of Tulips!!! They just have a magical of brighting up a room! My Pottery Barn bunny is going to get some more decoupaged eggs-I lied, I am not totally finished with decoraing!!!! That's about it! Thanks for stopping by!!!

It's starting to feel a bit like Spring & FYI!!!

I have started decorating, even though Easter is a month away, I saw a cool idea of Mod Podge plastic Easter eggs w/ scrapbook paper on another blog. They look way cute in my jars. The little bird was an UGLY colored thng from the Dollar Tree that a bit of spray paint took care of. I am going to get a couple more and place along my mantle. FYI~ I found out (and I may be late on this) that Illumnations is closing all stores. I got some great deals online yesterday, and then went to the one in the mall and scored as well. All of their glassware is 75% off!!!

First Snow!

We went to the snow with Brett for the first time-it only took 21 months!! We went to Truckee and had had lunch at a local diner and played around a bit. We then headed to a snow park and Brett got to experience the cold wet stuff....not quite sure if it a hit or a miss.

What am I doing here again?

OK~I can't feel my hands now!

Who needs Starbucks anyway?!

Well, OK, I do; BUT I have been making these fabulous Lattes and Iced-Lattes that I got from Hungry Girl. If you don't know about her website, go check it out. She does a daily e-mail-it is AWESOME!

This is my morning wake- me up

Hungry Girl's Mintylicious Hot Chocolate Surprise
Mix up a packet of your favorite 25-calorie sugar free, fat free hot chocolate (Nestle, Swiss Miss, etc.), then add a shot of Sugar Free Torani Peppermint syrup, a squirt of Fat Free Reddi-Wip. Sometimes I use Vanilla syrup instead. So yummy and cheap!

This is my afternoon pick-me up.
HG's Crazy-Cool Caramel Vanilla Iced Latte

(1 latte - 45 calories, 2g fat, 110mg sodium, 2.5g carbs, 0.5g fiber, 0g sugars, 0.5g protein = 1 Point)

Ingredients:
1 tsp. instant coffee
4 oz. Almond Breeze, Unsweetened Vanilla
1 tsp. Sugar Free Vanilla Caramel Coffee-mate Powder
3 Splenda packets
1 oz. Sugar Free Torani Syrup, Vanilla

Directions:
Place coffee, Splenda and Coffee-mate dry in a 16 oz. glass. Dissolve in 2 oz. of hot water. Add 3 oz. of cold water, Almond Breeze and a cup of crushed ice (or cubes). Top off with Torani Syrup. Stir and enjoy!

Bad Cat!

Nic surprised me with a gorgeous rose bouquet for Valentines Day.

They were looking so nice for a few days. Then I started noticing little bits and pieces of petals on the table. Yesterday I walked into the house to find this:

"I'm just smelling the roses mom"

Let me tell you that Yoda is a very sneaky kitty-he will be sitting on the table (Yes, he gets on my table) and just "hang-out" whenever I have flowers. Usually he never tries anything daring unless he knows he won't get caught. But for whatever reason(I think he was possessed yesterday) he just had to have the flowers!

"Oh, these actually taste pretty good!"

Don't mind if I do.......

"Alrightalright you caught me, I'm done anyways"

Now my beautiful roses have kitty chunks missing from them.

Something Sweet, Something Funny!

Something Sweet!

I have looked everywhere for a cute V-day shirt for Brett. I haven't seen anything even remotely cute for a toddler boy so I took matters into my own hands and decided to make him one. I like it so much that I might make some more of these for him to wear(different ones of course) I took some sponges and cut them into hearts, got some fabric paint to use on the shirt. When the paint dried, I took puff paint and painted the sayings onto the hearts. Now the tough part comes-getting a squirmy kid to stay still to get a decent picture.

Something Funny!

Yesterday morning, Brett woke up around 8:30. I was not ready to get up yet, so I let him talk for a few minutes. About 10 minutes later, Nic goes into his room to get him up. This is what I hear...."Katie, get in here quick...." , now I'm thinking something happened....he got himself out of his crib or maybe he was bleeding;I don't know! I go in and see Brett holding his diaper on top of his head, butt naked, his PJ's thrown across the room. I was hysterical!!!! He was looking at us like we were crazy for thinking he was crazy! He must have just taken his jammies off because there wasn't any pee anywhere(THANK GOD!!) he has never attepted to take his clothes off before, I wonder if this is the start of something....
